Clarke Nordhauser, known professionally as GRIMECRAFT, is a producer, DJ, artist and tech entrepreneur based in San Francisco, California. A former video game environment artist at Harmonix, Nordhauser took the GRIMECRAFT project full-time in 2014. He’s produced hit singles with a variety of labels including Maltine Records, Trekkie Trax, and GameChops for over four years, cleverly blending EDM, rap and rock with samples from beloved video games. As a DJ, he’s toured the US and Japan, headlined MAGFest, and inspired a whole generation of video game artists. His dynamic stage presence comes from a stint in rock bands in his teens.
In 2016, Nordhauser co-founded TheWaveVR, a virtual reality concert venue and social platform that has hosted some of music’s most innovative talent: TOKiMONSTA, Kill The Noise, The Glitch Mob, and GRIMECRAFT himself. Most recently, the company paired up with Steven Speilberg’s Ready Player One and HTC Vive at SXSW 2018 to showcase the future of VR. Nordhauser has also made a name from himself in street-fashion, designing his own clothing under the GRIMECRAFT label and co-hosting Twitch Studio’s sneaker culture show, FreshStock.
The GRIMECRAFT brand is one-part nostalgia and two-parts futurism. Nordhauser devotes his life to creating experiences where people can play, meet each other, and be themselves. He does it all while making sure to spend quality time with his bengal cat, Robbie.
