San Japan is planning to have around 75-85 arcade cabinets, we will have a plethora of Japanese music rhythm games that you won’t find anywhere in Texas, multiple gaming tournaments on multiple large projection screens and an upward of 100 consoles of all different types. The arcades will be located in EXHIBIT HALL 4B in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center which will have nearly 60,000 square feet. The console / PC section will be located on the 3rd floor of the convention center in the Hemisfair Ballroom in a 30,000 square feet section. We will have one of the largest game rooms at any Texas anime convention. All arcade games are set to free play.

Critical Hit Arcade – Console/LAN & Tournament Provider For San Japan

For any particular tournament questions please e-mail gaming(at)san-japan.org or ask them at the convention. We just post the tournament schedules on here as that’s all that is given to us. The tournament organizers do not generally give us the tournament rules for specific tournaments. Smash tournament questions need to be asked on the SmashBoards as we are unable to answer them. We do not pre-register online for tournaments as you will have to pay for them at the convention.

We do not a have list of what console games will be available on free play.

2018 Video Game Tournament Schedule

The game room will require a convention badge in order to enter. Any person caught in the game room without a badge will be escorted off the premises by SAPD.

Tournaments with cash entry are paid on-site at the convention inside the game room. There will be free tournaments which prizes will be from our prize chest (Random Prizes). All tournaments will have a limit by the number of entries and do tend to fill up based on the popularity of the game. There are no refunds on convention badges even if you are unable to enter a tournament. Any questions about the tournaments must be sent to congaming@gmail.com as San Japan does not have any information about tournament setups beyond what’s listed in the tournament schedule.
