Formed in 2006, ROOKiEZ IS PUNK’D is a rock band centering around Rock, Punk, and Emo, working in other genres of music along the way. The realist lyrics sang in Japanese which moves the heart, the unforgettable one & only good melody, the staple human emotions, the band sound that expresses many feelings, this band keeps sending messages to encourage everyone to keep living in such a day and age. Many listeners support the strong and aggressive live performance that brings everyone together as one along with bringing passion to each and every person in the audience. The band has done many theme songs for popular anime series such as “Durarara!!,” “BLEACH,” “Blue Exorcist,” “Yowamushi Pedal.” Due to this, their audience is a wide field of all genders and age groups. In recent years, they’ve been active not just in Japan but have been overseas too. Their activities have become worldwide overcoming the wall of language and boundaries. As they have reached their 10-year point, everyone is looking forward to their activities from here and on.

ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D, the four-piece band based in Shibuya exploded onto the music scene in June 2010 with their very first single, “Complication.” The single quickly reached number one in downloadable tracks, ranked 11th on the Oricon Weekly ranking, and was featured as the opening theme for the animated series “Durarara!!” ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D went on to have songs featured in the anime series Bleach with “song for…” and “IN MY WORLD,” the second opening theme for Blue Exorcist.
In 2011 the band collaborated with the creators of Durarara!! to release their first album “DRRROOKiEZ!! – ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D respect for DRRR!!” featuring “DROP,” the opening theme for the PSP game Durarara!! 3-way Standoff.

They attract Rock and J-Pop fans through their unique sound which includes Rock, Punk, and Emo. They have performed for their fans over 100 times in a single year and every time, the audience was hungry for more. The band’s influence has also expanded to fashion with collaborations with SRH Clothing in San Diego and Shibuya-based Subciety. They are signed under defSTAR records, a sub-label of Sony Music Japan.

This band sends messages to be and stay straight to live through this kind of complicated era and the world we each face to carry on our everyday life by combinations of heart-moving, realistic Japanese lyrics and the band sound expressing wide range of feelings and emotions along with one-and-only good melodies that are hard to let go from one’s mind.

Mainly active in Shibuya TOKYO, the band keeps expanding their energetic live performances by touring nationwide in Japan.  Their strong and aggressive show style, reaching out to communicate with each and every audience in the crowd which quickly gathers the whole crowd in the venue as one, attracts and receives support from many listeners, both young and old in a wide range of audiences.

Their name is remarkably growing not only domestically but internationally, as their stage gets admission controls whenever they make guest band appearances for convention shows held in the United States.  Their US limited-release album in 2014 and worldwide download releases of their past albums in over 23 countries are already making their international campaign a promising one in breaking the walls of country borders and language barriers, now and also in the future.
